The Lord’s Supper

What makes an Ordinance?

We have two ordinances we believe in here at HSMBC, Baptism and The Lord’s Supper.

This morning, we will observe one of these, the Lord’s Supper. This begs the question, “What makes an ordinance?”

In short, a Church Ordinance is something Jesus gave to the church to put into practice. In the case of the Lord’s Supper, Jesus instituted this with His church before his betrayal and ultimate crucifixion. Scripture says for his church to continue this “as often as you do.” So let’s reverently partake in this as members of HSMBC. Remembering Jesus and giving Him thanks.
