Jesus Has Overcome the World

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

This passage. This verse. It means everything. Jesus is at the end of His Earthly ministry, unfathomable pain and suffering are on the horizon. Yet, Jesus takes time to give the disciples something to hold onto in the days to come. Though they don’t understand Him fully at this point, I can’t help but believe that this (along with many other teachings and sayings) came to their mind. I am so thankful that we have a savior that has defeated this world. Defeated death. Defeated sin! Thank God for Jesus!
