Wrestling With God

Genesis 32:22-30

Sometime today or this week take a look at this passage. It’s a fairly well known story of Jacob wrestling with God Himself (Jesus before he was virgin born.) One thing I have always taken from this story is I have been Jacob, we all have! We’ve all had a struggle with our “inner-self” and didn’t want to let go. God wanted to have a relationship with Jacob. However he couldn’t because Jacob wouldn’t let go of his self reliance, trickery, and deceit. Once Jacob admitted he could no longer win the battle and was tired of fighting, then, God could use him. The same is still true for us today. We constantly fight with our “inner-self” this flesh and blood. In turn, what we are doing is wrestling with God and not allowing Him to have a relationship with us that He desires and we need. Won’t you give in, accept defeat against our own selves and “get self out of the way” and watch how God can use you!

It’s a special day in God’s House! I’m excited to see Him move today!
